SANTAQUIN CITY CORP Part-time Senior Citizens Meal Assistant/Substitute in SANTAQUIN, Utah

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs a variety of duties assisting preparation and servicing of Senior Citizens meals and related services.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general supervision of the Senior Citizens Program Coordinator.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

None.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists in the preparation of dining room for meals; washes and sanitizes all tables daily. Sets out serving, trays plates utensils, cups and napkins for the food line.

Sets tables with condiments, butter, rolls, ice water; prepares drink tables with juices, milk, punch, coffee, tea creamer, sugar, stirring sticks, mints, etc.; ensures sufficient supply of plates, cups, silverware, etc.

Follows established protocols for the use of storage containers, lids, etc.

Assists with preparing and the serving of meals; performs various after-meal duties, clears tables, collect and store table materials; assists with general kitchen clean-up.

Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

1.            Education and Experience

A.           Sufficient education and training to demonstrate the aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties;

AND

B.           No Experience necessary,

 

2.            Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Some knowledge of meal preparation practices and cooking and baking techniques; typical institutional policies; safety and emergency procedures; and interpersonal communication skills.

Some skill in operating kitchen appliances and equipment.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

3.            Special Qualifications:

             A.           Required to obtain/possess a current Utah State Food Handlers Permit.

4.            Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Tasks require a variety of physical activities, occasionally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting. Talking, hearing and seeing essential to performance of daily duties. Periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs. is common.   Typical limb dexterity is needed.  Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving.
