Labor Source Production Associate in Saraland, Alabama

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of and reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Associate position helps ensure production quotas are met by producing, fabricating, building, and assembling various equipment and finished goods in a timely manner while observing the highest standards of safety and quality. You will also be tasked with some material handling(loading, unloading, lifting, and moving production materials) as well as maintenance and repair-related activities.KEY TRAITS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Comfortable operating in ambiguity. Apply process where it creates value, and design process where necessary. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Produce, build, assemble, fabricate, wire, and test various equipment and goods such as Benders, PCLs, Hoses, Cables, Chains, Control Panels, etc. to meet production quotas, expedited orders, and special requests in a timely and safe manner.

Build and test electrical control systems including, but not limited to control panels, control stations, and junction boxes.

Interpret electrical/mechanical diagrams/schematics to produce, build, assemble, fabricate, wire, terminate and test various equipment and goods such as Benders, PCLs, Hoses, Cables, Chains, Control Panels, etc.

Cut, tap, and drill backplanes and enclosures, to mount buttons, switches, lights and miscellaneous control interfaces.

Receive and verify material to packing slip and project BOM.

Utilizing electrical test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals, perform QA testing and document results.

Conduct production, build, assembly, fabrication, wiring, and testing activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

Manage labor and material resources to maximize efficiencies and yields.

Protect company assets by the direct intervention of any condition resulting in the abuse of tools, equipment or materials.

Respond to and fulfill any assigned ATP Requests(Request to pull parts that are not in stock from complete machines);Have Item Restricted, Add to Restricted List, Designate Someone to Pull the Part, add the part to the system and let the ATPgroup know when they are complete. These need to be taken care of the same day the request is sent in before noon, if after 12pm then they must be taken care of the next day business day.

Follow and understand quality control procedures.

Communicate with the supervisor the status of work and quality or design issues.

Maintain the production work area clean, neat, and organized to ensure there are no safety hazards and that the area is presentable for guests.

Effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks to meet recurring deadlines.

Learn new concepts quickly and accurately.

Comfortable working autonomously and independently while always remaining productive with little supervision when required, but within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Able to share knowledge and skills to enhance the teams overall productivity and effectiveness.

Makes recommendations to the department supervisor/manager for resolving bottlenecks and problems.

Must be able to consistently meet the C mpanys expectations of attendance and punctuality. WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The normal work environment is typical of a warehouse distribution company. PPE requirements: Steel-toed shoes must be worn at all times. Other protective equipment (such as safety glasses and hard hat) will be provided. Other PPE may be required depending on the area and specific functional needs. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. You will be exposed to hazardous materials and will be working near moving machinery (such as forklifts). Exposure to dust and loud noise. The candidate is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, touch, see, and hear. Ability to lift cartons and other packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend and push/pull heavy pallets. The candidate will occasionally operate machinery. The candidate will operate a variety of forklifts Must be comfortable standing, sitting, and walking on cement majority of the day Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to rest on the knee or knees. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Ensure that all tools and production equipment are stored and secured at the end of the work day.

Identify faulted components or manufacturing defects on production and submit for re-work.

Read, interpret, and react to schematics for the troubleshooting process.

Participate in test process improvements, efficiencies, and safety.

Interface with other cross-functional departments, and possibly customers.

Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Stock, box or repackage equipment when needed.

Learn all the basic level tasks including how to operate production equipment and learn production procedures.

Accurately complete all required production paperwork
