Fabcon Precast Field Superintendent in Savage, Minnesota

Description

Purpose/Scope

The Field Superintendent will apply their knowledge and skills to ensure the successful installation of Fabcon products to meet customers’ expectations, including the delivery, erection and completion of wall panels in a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and plan all field operations to ensure the profitable completion of Fabcon projects

  • Ensure a safe working environment on jobsites for employees by upholding the high safety standards set by Fabcon and meeting OSHA requirements

  • Provide exemplary service to Fabcon’s internal and external customers, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Internal: Vice President, Manager of Field Operations, Project Managers and Field Employees

  • External: Customers, Vendors

  • Manage field assets to ensure first time quality on projects, while providing on-time delivery, as well as timely completion of the project

  • Supervise and lead the field resources used to start and complete projects within budget

  • Supervise, train and manage field employees, ensuring a highly skilled and motivated work force

  • Hold employees accountable to meet or exceed expectations. Positions reporting to the Field Superintendent include: Field Erection Foreperson, Patching Foreperson, Welding Foreperson, Caulking Foreperson, and Auger Foreperson, and their direct reports, Bricklayers and Laborers

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction trades

  • Minimum of two (2) years in a direct management or supervisory role in construction trades

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license

Other Required Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)

  • Experience with problem solving and concurrently leading field employees and multiple projects

  • Ability to pre-plan and schedule work and equipment to meet financial/deadline goals

  • Ability to make effective day-to-day decisions based on changing situations in a fluid environment

  • Effectively communicate and problem solve with management, field employees, and Fabcon customers

  • Dedication to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality, and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field

  • Concrete/pre-cast experience

  • OSHA 10-hour certification

Physical Requirements

Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer

Work Environment

Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
