Actalent Environmental Engineering Manager in Savannah, Georgia

Job Title: Environmental Engineering ManagerJob Description

We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in managing site investigations and remedial efforts for facilities under Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) regulatory programs such as USTMP, Brownfield, VRP, etc. The role involves providing engineering and consulting services across a broad range of projects and clients. Responsibilities include performing and leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, as well as design and development of plans and specifications. The candidate will also review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, and recommend changes. The role demands maintaining high quality and safety standards on all projects, participating in pre-task planning, and addressing any safety issues.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field

  • Experience completing Phase I/II site assessments

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

  • Experience in site investigations and remediation under Georgia EPD regulatory programs

  • UST remediation system design and implementation

Soft Skills

  • Client-facing experience

  • Ability to communicate complex engineering issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Leadership and supervisory skills

  • Project management experience

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Savannah, Georgia.

Work Environment

Office-based from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional extended hours. After the initial contract, this role transitions to a salaried position. The role may require occasional onsite visits to train engineers, collect samples, and meet with clients. The candidate will work closely with the leadership team.
