Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, rebuilds, constructs and maintains yacht piping systems, meeting each commitment not only with precision, but also delivering service with a reassuring style. This role may also be referred to as Technician (Pipe). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Exhaust system repair and installation Hydraulic hose and tube fabrication Install and repair fuel management and filtration systems Onboard fire suppression systems Perform freshwater system repairs and installation Perform chilled water system repairs and installation Perform grey system repairs and installation Perform salt water systems repairs and installation Perform toilet system installation, service and maintenance Perform tank testing and describe closing procedures Valve overhaul and inspection Perform and develop class compliant IPQA forms Mechanically fasten pipe flanges Fit and glue PVC piping Sweat copper, sort solder Silver braze bronze fittings Lite rigging Maintain clean work area Maintain integrity of yacht interiors and exterior finish Overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate Other duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training. Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately. Technical and Physical Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Sailing knowledge preferred Hoisting/Crane Operator experience preferred Previous experience preferred, willing to train ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred Ability to ascend and descend a ladder Must carry own tools Familiarity with boats and nomenclature Ability to lift 150 pounds Work in confined spaces Maneuver in a variety of spaces Stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time Visual acuity, talk and listen, push, pull, reach, grasp, and walk Minimum Soft Skills Qualifications Eagerness to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading company Consistently treats others with dignity and respect Genuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitude Frequently demonstrates a bias toward action Always communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and members Continuously follows policies and procedures while seeking out new and better ways of accomplishing duties Shows resolve and overcomes difficulties in a positive and productive manner Gladly provides responsive, and high level of service to our teammates and members Eagerly puts forth the extra effort to accomplish duties Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities in order to meet teammate or member needs The Company Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world.
