Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of personnel and plant issues to manufacture product as required by customers in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This position reports to the Production Manager. In the absence of the Production Supervisor, another Production Supervisor or production lead will serve as backup.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervises department employees regarding personnel issues such as vacation and daily time sheet review, job assignments, productivity, procedures, and required paperwork.
Oversee production activity to ensure timely responsiveness to both internal and external customers.
Control department costs by monitoring overtime and use of equipment and materials.
Review and reconcile weekly timesheets.
Liaison with Quality Control on all quality issues to co-develop preventative measures going forward.
Follow all quality assurance instructions on formulas related to proper sampling of product batches.
Ensure you and your team are following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
Be in timely communication with management to ensure an efficient communication and flow to the Production Floor.
Ensure employees are properly trained and certified (where applicable) to execute their duties.
General support of plant production and quality assigned by plant leadership.
Attend all safety meetings, report any safety incidents/accidents and understand and follow all Company and Plant Safety policies and Procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Complete walks of the floor throughout the shift to be in the know always.
Complete transition meetings at start and end of shift with outgoing and oncoming shift supervisor.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4-5+ years of relevant work experience working in a manufacturing facility, preferably within the CPG industry with blending or mixing ingredients.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required.
• Must have excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organization and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
• Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must possess excellent people skills including the ability to maintain a positive attitude and ability to motivate people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals, as well as identifying short and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support to meet those needs.
• Ability to adjust approach to match varied task requirements, adjust behavior to others’ styles, change priorities to meet changing demands, adjust quickly to new responsibilities and tasks required.
• Must be detail-oriented, as well as possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize key priorities at a given time.
• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting through root cause problem solving.
• Ability to set effective and challenging objectives.
• Must have flexibility to work evenings and overnights as required.
