Position Summary:

The Sr Financial Analyst - Capital Expense Projects is responsible for developing and executing project costing reporting and overseeing the individual project budgets at the Savannah, GA factory. As a Sr Financial Analyst- Capital Expense Projects you will work closely with the project engineering team reviewing project budgets and spend to ensure the investment project stays on track not only financially, but also from a compliance perspective. Next to this, one of your core responsibilities will be the budgeting and tracking process of the projects spend and all other project related financials. In close cooperation with the engineering and factory controlling team, you will also map out the WBS structure, determination of the assets and timing of capitalization. As a partner of the Factory Controller, you will ensure the long-term strategic cost objectives for the factory are met. The ideal candidate must have exceptional communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to present to the stakeholders at all levels of the organization and ensuring compliance to Nestlé Accounting Standards (NAS), Costing Standards of Manufacturing (CSM), Nestlé Code of Business Conduct and other relevant laws, regulations and internal standards and guidelines. This is an onsite role Monday-Friday at our Savannah, GA factory location.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Manager, procurement, and engineering to develop and maintain monthly project cost forecasts as well as analyze data to provide solutions to keep projects on track for financial profitability

  • Perform financial simulations/justifications, special charges, depreciation, and CAPEX evaluations/forecasts as required and ensuring full transparency of costs Nestlé financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards whilst making sure strategic decision making in investment decisions

  • Join forces with the project engineering team to develop a detailed WBS and future asset structure to monitor and track the future asset values, useful life, and capitalization timing

  • Develop reporting & processes for reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly variances of project, special charges, start-up, and PRO spend; analyze and investigate background and root cause, take actions as required

  • Prepare and present project financials, ongoing challenges and project status to the project steering committee and factory controlling team, provide support as necessary

  • Ensure data accuracy with regular checks; follow up with stakeholders to ensure correction of errors

  • Provide valuable input/insight to Project Manager on cost improvement opportunities for project budget

  • Ensure competitive bidding is properly done and continuously challenge capex spend to ensure cost is optimized

  • Manage Internal Controls. Follow costing guidelines and associated standard operating procedures, Nestlé financial policies, Accounting Standards, internal and external compliance requirements, when generating financial documents and performing daily activities

  • Organize and drive handover to the factory finance team at project completion and ensure all guidelines and project timings are met

  • Ensure projects can be closed on time and first time right (i.e., no outstanding goods receipt or invoices to purchase orders)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, MBA is nice to have

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, project controlling and/or a combined mixture in consumer goods production environment

  • High knowledge in project controlling, SAP and other common software tools (SAP, Power-BI and Excel)

  • Proven track record of successfully managed investment projects

Skills:

  • Ability to find and implement simple solutions to complex problems and drive process efficiency

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with all levels of the organization

  • Advanced Excel skills, experience with Power BI, advanced SAP/FI experiences, and PowerPoint

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights
