Robert Half Bookkeeper in Sayville, New York

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper in Sayville, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This includes processing vendor invoices, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger entries.

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.

• Prepare and distribute client invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.

• Work closely with the management team in handling sensitive information including account reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.

• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax preparation processes.

• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and legal requirements relevant to the industry.

• Utilize skills and tools such as Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Bookkeeping, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations

• Demonstrable bookkeeping skills

• Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting

• Experience with QuickBooks software for managing and tracking financial transactions

• Attention to detail and ability to maintain precise financial records

• Strong communication skills to liaise with other departments and external parties

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial information.
