Objective of Position :
The Principal Enterprise Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the architecture of the bank's technology systems. This includes leading strategic technology initiatives, managing IT infrastructure, and ensuring alignment with business and regulatory needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Architecture Design & Implementation:
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture strategies, frameworks, and blueprints, focusing on the integration of Microsoft technologies (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, etc.), network infrastructure, and cloud-based services.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient network architectures across the organization.
Lead the evolution of the bank's IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with both current and future business needs.
Ensure enterprise architecture decisions comply with relevant banking regulations and industry best practices.
Technology Integration & Management:
Lead the implementation of Microsoft-based solutions including cloud, security, and productivity tools to optimize operations.
Oversee the integration of networking components such as routing, switching, and security to support bank-wide IT initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, software engineering, operations) to implement end-to-end solutions.
Vendor Management:
Manage and cultivate relationships with third-party vendors, particularly SASE providers, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and value is delivered.
Evaluate and manage technology vendors for network and cloud services, negotiating contracts and managing renewals.
Continuously assess vendor performance and work closely with procurement to drive cost-effective solutions.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Work closely with senior leadership, business units, and IT (external and internal) teams to define architectural standards, solutions, and roadmaps.
Provide leadership and guidance to technical teams throughout the design, implementation, and maintenance phases.
Facilitate decision-making by providing expert advice on technical feasibility and business impact of IT solutions.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure all architecture solutions comply with security policies, industry standards (e.g., Internal Organization for Standards (ISO), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)), and regulatory requirements specific to the banking industry.
Collaborate with the security team to design and implement secure solutions, particularly around SASE and other cloud-based security architectures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or Aruba Certified.
10+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focusing on enterprise architecture design and implementation within a banking or financial services environment.
Experience in working for Banking or financial services industry, preferred.
Expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Office 365, Entra, Intune, Active Directory, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Knowledge of modern network security concepts, including Zero Trust architectures.
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud management.
Strong knowledge of network architecture, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN technologies.
Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, and vendor management for SASE providers.
Experience with Aruba networks and wireless infrastructure is a significant plus.
Solid understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance, particularly in the context of financial institutions.
Proven experience leading large-scale IT transformations and working within cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.

This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation & Benefits:
Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
The salary range for this position is between $155,000 to $180,000
In addition, Byline provides benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, paid time off and much more! Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
