Kelly Services Senior Accountant in Schaumburg, Illinois

Job Title: Accountant

Salary: $75k-85,000 based on experience

Location: Schaumburg (100% onsite for training for first few months then hybrid)

Duration: direct hire, permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain lease accounting process in accordance with lease accounting standards, including contract review, data acquisition, journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Analyze complex customer contracts for appropriate revenue recognition under revenue recognition standards.

  • Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies, making necessary adjustments.

  • Prepare financial statements for foreign entities, including intercompany eliminations and equity method.

  • Handle foreign currencies in SAP.

  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts with different currencies and make adjusting entries.

  • Manage customer rebate programs, including program creation, accruals, and issuances.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and support month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.

  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports, such as sales flash reports, commissions, and claims.

  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with JSOX and US GAAP standards.

  • Conduct account reconciliations and analysis.

  • Review currency translation and perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a 4-year college or university; MBA, CPA, or public accounting experience is a plus.

  • 3-7 years of general accounting experience, within in a manufacturing environment required

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes, reporting, and budgeting.

  • Proficiency in financial reporting under US GAAP; experience with foreign entities is required

  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Exposure to lease accounting standards and revenue recognition standards is strongly desired.

  • Proficiency in financial reporting and US GAAP, with exposure to foreign entities and global consolidation.

  • Proficiency in computer-based applications, including SAP ERP.
