JOB REQUIREMENTS: Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways. General Duties: Working collaboratively as a team with the Project Coordinator. The Maintenance Carpenter will provide carpentry work for new construction, improving apartments, preventive maintenance for all properties under Emmerich Properties. MAJOR FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB INCLUDE: Make repairs or replace recommendations for appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, doors, windows, decks, and roofing. Installation of kitchen cabinets, trim, vanities and molded sink tops. Be able to identify and understand floor plans. Identify and correct hazardous conditions on the properties. OTHER ASPECTS OF JOB: Attendance is an essential job function. Assist with hazardous weather problems, fires, floods, freezes, etc. Responsible for overall organization and cleanliness of work areas and maintenance shops. General construction aptitude and experience required. Must be a good role model by demonstrating honesty, moral integrity and ethical conduct with experience working as part of a team. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to set direction. High School Diploma and some college or trade school required in addition to on the job field experience. Must be at least eighteen years of age Ability to read and write clear English CERTIFICATES, LICENSURE & REGISTRATION: United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
