Responsibilities Job Summary The Communications Specialist is responsible for content management of assigned areas and oversees communication efforts that promote a positive public perception of the organization. Responsible for implementing communication plans and serves as a writer for assigned marketing and communication projects. Leads publication development. This position requires developing and maintaining strong partnerships with physicians and clinical leads. Develops and manages content across appropriate communication mediums. Leads the implementation of targeted communication plans for assigned areas and projects. Develops, evaluates and implements communication plans for assigned areas or projects in collaboration with key constituents. Leads the generation of content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable understanding and action to meet the objectives. Works with internal and external resources to facilitate development of communication mediums. Develops, writes, edits and/or approves relevant content for all traditional and digital outlets. Leverages content across communication mediums. Actively seeks and recommends multiple uses for content. Makes appropriate references and connections for cross promotion. Shares outcomes with key constituents and recommends adjustments as appropriate to achieve success. Follows Associated Press (AP) as well as organization style guide in composing all written pieces. Adheres to organization brand guidelines for all developed communications. Ensures accurate, timely and efficient delivery of materials. Serves as editor for materials produced within marketing or other key areas. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with assigned stakeholders in support of the strategic plan goals. Regularly meets with internal clients to understand communication needs, develop solutions and provide feedback. Take ownership responsibility for initializing, developing, executing and measuring all assigned tasks. Actively solicits involvement of key stakeholders in the development of projects. Advises and recommends to clients appropriate communication vehicles and methods for maximum reach. Acts as an integral team member for assigned areas. Recognized as a resource expert. Participates on various internal teams and committees to obtain and disseminate pertinent information. Provides fact-based input into marketing & communication priorities. Champions the support of the organization’s brand by supporting all aspects of brand compliance, marketing and communication standards across the organization. Collaborates with key stakeholders to educate, inform and support brand standards, brand voice and style guide. Supports the development and adoption of our brand templates and standards across all business units. Works with Creative Services to implement and execute internal brand templates. Participates in the audit process of public areas to ensure brand compliance. Works in conjunction with department leads to review and recommend continuous improvement thinking related to our brand image. Practices professionalism and accountability as it relates to all assigned duties. Utilizes continuous improvement methods to explore new ideas and methods. Defines the measurement process and builds in metrics to facilitate on-going review and measurement of the effectiveness of efforts. Audits performance and recommends change on a regular basis. Tracks and reports results in established standard reporting format. Provide back up support to other team members as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in communications or journalism or related degree.
