Job Description: Perkins Coie's summer associate program provides varied work and training opportunities as well as social events designed to promote interaction among summer associates, attorneys and business professionals. Our summer associate program is our primary source of new associate hires. Summer associates work on a wide range of challenging legal assignments similar to those given to new associates, which typically include legal research, analysis and drafting. Summer associates are commonly invited to attend depositions, mediations, deal closings, client meetings, trials, and other professional activities and events. They are welcome and encouraged to work on pro bono projects. Perkins Coie seeks summer associates who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership in and service to the community, and dedication to excellence in the legal profession. Candidates must be currently enrolled students in good standing pursuing the degree of Juris Doctor at an ABA-accredited law school. The application process will require and prompt you to attach your resume, law school transcript, a writing sample (10-page max), and a cover letter explaining your areas of interest and geographical preference. Perkins Coie is seeking 2025 2L summer associates interested in Patent Prosecution with a degree or scientific background in computer science. Patent Prosecution candidates must include undergraduate and, if applicable, graduate school transcripts with the application packet. This position is available in our Austin, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Seattle offices. Monthly compensation for California, New York, and Washington State is $18,750.
