Description JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT MEN'S RESIDENCE MANAGER DEPARTMENT: SEATTLE ARP STATUS: FULL-TIME - $22.00 per hour IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: MEN'S RESIDENCE MANAGER The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. SCOPE OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Residence Manager, the Assistant Men's Residence Manager is responsible for the management of the men's residence facilities and participants. As a team member, he/she promotes a climate for effective performance and learning through attitudes, willingness to teach and learn and availability to participants and staff. Encouragement is given to the individual to continue to seek experience and training which will enhance their ability to work more effectively with participants. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or equivalent. Program graduate with continuing involvement in a program of recovery is desirable, but not required. Ability to supervise participants as revealed by experience, training, and/or interview. Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Ability to acquire the license within 90 days is acceptable. Integrity, resourcefulness, initiative and evidence of self-improvement. Demonstrate ability to support and apply the philosophy and goals of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program as stated in the Mission Statement. No evidence of existing chemical dependency. If chemically dependent, shall be free of and have had at least one year free of any chemical abuse or dependency. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Key Responsibilities: Participant Supervision: Coordinate, monitor and supervise all in-house participants assignments. Provide weekly orientation courses for new participants to the requirements of the residence and the program. Conduct random room checks as required by standards, but not less than 3 times per week. Monitor, facilitate, and supervise participant activities, including prescription medications. Provide short-term crisis counseling as needed. Supervise recreational programming for participants. Actively participate in all activities, maintaining open relationships with all participants. Supervise and/or administer Breathalyzer testing when requested by staff or when participants return to the residence, and enter data into BITS system. Supervise the collection of urine test specimens, ensuring proper security procedures, including labeling and transport, and enter data into BITS system. Act as a role model for participants, both as a resident of the ARP and as a person in recovery, in personal dress and general behavior. Prepare and submit conference reports in accordance with current policies when required. Ensure regular safety drills are held in the residence as directed. Maintain good order and discipline without favoritism in accordance with policies, and discharge participants when behavior warrants such action. Participate in special events, including holiday events, retreats, alumni dinners, and other scheduled activities. Drive a Salvation Army vehicle as part of assigned duties. Maintain necessary records and statistics as directed. Coordinate vacation time with the Administrator and Residence Manager to ensure coverage for all functions. Know and enforce ARP Safety Regulations for the residence, ensuring staff and participants adhere to safety requirements. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and laws to uphold the integrity of the program. Distribute conduct reports as needed.
