The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Identity team is building and operating the identity, authentication, and authorization stack for the AWS cloud. In our quest we are pushing the technology boundaries in building a trusted and highly reliable architecture that provides the controls for massively scalable and globally distributed systems that exist both in AWS as well as in our AWS customers services.

Key job responsibilities

We are hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to help us accelerate our efforts in delivering delightful Identity capabilities. This person will build new business intelligence solutions end-to-end. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with big data sets and have the expertise to utilize these datasets to answer business questions and drive growth.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly reports and dashboards that will support our analytical and business needs.

• Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.

• Write high quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift), and learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.

• Work closely with product stakeholders and partners in driving product decisions by being the voice of the customers, through data.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
