UW Bothell’s Office of the Chancellor has an outstanding opportunity for a Community Engagement Business Analyst.

This position has been funded at 0.75 FTE for two years. The position is not expected to continue beyond two years. Continuation beyond two years would be contingent upon future funding and project needs.

This position will play a key role on the UW Bothell campus in managing the planning and implementation of a community engagement management system to collect, track, manage, analyze, and report community engagement activities and impact data. As part of a broader effort across the three UW campuses in Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma to improve community engagement infrastructure, the community engagement management system will track and manage curricular and co-curricular community-engaged learning, research, and engagement.

This position reports to the Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships in the Office of the Chancellor, with regular support and collaboration with the Technical Project Manager leading the tri-campus rollout of the community engagement management system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Data platform system implementation, adoption, and management

  • Function as a strategic leader in working with key stakeholders to successfully manage the implementation on the Bothell campus of a new tri-campus community engagement management system (GivePulse).

  • In collaboration with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager and campus stakeholders, define GivePulse system and software specifications, configurations, and requirements as well as key responsibilities, processes, and deliverables specifically for community-engaged courses and other community engagement activities for UW Bothell users and stakeholders.

  • Determine and communicate to the tri-campus Technical Project Manager the data integration requirements from other existing or complementary data platforms currently in use across campus for tracking different aspects of community engagement.

  • In collaboration with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager and counterparts on the Seattle and Tacoma campuses, advise on systems integrations, data validations, and/or work-around processes for UW Bothell.

  • Identify and incorporate new GivePulse functionality and enhancements and provide status updates for tasks and feature enhancements to the tri-campus Technical Project Manager.Business analysis

  • Define internal and external stakeholders, objectives, scope, risks, and success criteria.

  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to understand, identify, and document the workflow and process requirements related to the GivePulse data platform, listening to their experience, assessing options, and incorporating feedback into solutions that support the efficacy of utilizing the platform.

  • Work with key stakeholders to identify reporting, data analysis, visualization, and assessment requirements and goals and determine options for leveraging the functions of the GivePulse data platform to meet those requirements and goals.

  • Support stakeholders in developing and implementing reporting, analysis, visualization, and assessment processes through leveraging the functions of the GivePulse data platform.Communications and constituent engagement

  • Serve as the primary UW Bothell contact on the implementation, adoption, and management of the GivePulse data platform for community engagement, collaborating with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager, data systems leads on the Seattle and Tacoma campuses, and internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and provide clear and effective training, documentation, resources, and support for UW Bothell and community partners to utilize the GivePulse data platform.

  • Engage potential campus partners in utilizing the GivePulse data platform to support their community engagement tracking and management activities.Other contributions to tri-campus and UW Bothell initiatives

  • Participate in internal team meetings and working groups, as assigned.

  • Participate in the tri-campus community engagement capacity building effort via meetings and communities of practice.

  • Remain active in the GivePulse community, including participating in webinars, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.

  • Assist, as needed, with other community engagement initiatives and institutional projects and activities, such as the Carnegie Foundation’s Elective Classification for Community Engagement and strategic planning efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships or the Chief of Staff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, or related field.

  • Minimum two years professional experience in project management, business process improvement, data management and assessment, and/or change management.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Aptitude for developing collaborative relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, students, and community partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately (through written word and public speaking) with varied stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to self-organize, plan, manage, and administer complex projects.

  • Experience in data assessment and evaluation at a program and institutional level.

  • Experience guiding an institution or team through change.

  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to identify needs, assess options, and propose solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how business/data systems can support those needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new content areas quickly and be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Teams and SharePoint.

  • Commitment to developing equitable, ethical and mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations between higher education institutions and broader communities. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with GivePulse as a community engagement data tracking and management platform.
