Amazon Design Operations Lead, AWS Brand in Seattle, Washington

Description

The AWS Brand team is looking for an experienced Design Operations Lead to build and manage a comprehensive program that unlocks bar-raising creative for all of AWS Marketing. In July 2024, the Brand team launched an updated brand system with a goal of creating an ownable, recognizable, and unified experience for our customers. The Design Operations Lead will have the unique opportunity to build a first-of-its class program focused on improving efficiencies within Brand workstreams and driving adoption of this new brand system at scale.

The ideal candidate would have demonstrated experience in design or creative operations for a large organization, systems-thinking, process definition, design tooling, content management systems, and agency of record management. You will be adept at succeeding in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, have an entrepreneurial mindset, have experience leading cross-organizational efforts, and maintain a desire to build meaningful relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the design operations landscape within the AWS Brand team and drive innovation in creative development processes. We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who can bridge the gap between design, technology, people, and business operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a comprehensive program to optimize and scale adoption of the brand system across AWS Marketing including goals, roadmap, and key initiatives.

  • Engage with Brand team members and stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points, and use this feedback to inform program priorities and strategy.

  • Establish and implement streamlined processes, workflows, and tooling to improve Brand team execution and delivery, including but not limited to file and asset management, design intent to production hand off, and delivery mechanisms.

  • Establish and implement streamlined processes, workflows, and tooling that allow for efficient and effective adoption of the brand system by marketing stakeholders and external agencies.

  • Partner with CX, MarTech, engineering, and internal design system teams to identify opportunities for collaboration and shared goaling or mechanisms

  • Act as single Brand lead in organization-wide initiatives around design tooling (Figma, Adobe), automation and technology (Adobe Express, Firefly, etc), content management (DAM).

  • Act as Brand lead for creative vendor and agency of record programs (training, auditing), working closely with Finance, Procurement, Brand leadership, and Creative Program Managers overseeing day-to-day agency of record programs.

  • Build and manage an efficient team accountable for delivering against program goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience managing brand design operations and scaling programs within a large marketing organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years experience within an in-house or brand and creative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing brand design operations and scaling programs within a large marketing organization.

  • Previous experience in technology or sales-led B2B organizations

  • Global or multi-country localization and/or transcreation experience

  • Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and asset management best practices.

  • Experience with both Figma and Adobe design tools.

  • Experience with design systems, pattern libraries, and design system governance.

  • Knowledge of generative AI tools and their applications in design and creative development.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
