You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the structural analysis work of a rocket engine program. Engines: This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. The Engines System Analysis Team is focused on engine performance and internal fluid flow problems with advanced lumped parameter models. The models owned by our team are critical to defining test sequences, predicting test behavior, ensuring engine performance meets requirements, and defining upgrades. These engines will be used to power our vehicles that fly to space. This role is part of the system-level analysis team within the Engines Design Office. As a key propulsion analyst, you will be performing analyses, supporting rocket engine testing, and interacting with both Chief Engineers and component owners. You will build and run steady state and transient analytic models of engines and other test articles to predict how they operate. To be part of our team you will be expected to create and use 1D fluid analysis software and codes to perform advanced analysis of rocket engine systems; and help support the development of processes and tools in Python and Matlab. To be successful on this team, you will need to be able to work collaboratively to solve problems while owning independent projects to completion. We are looking for someone with demonstrated skills in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, software development, system-level thinking, who is eager to learn, and enjoys modeling rocket engines! Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or related engineering discipline. Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials). Ability to work effectively in teams. Ability to communicate analysis results effectively. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Successfully completed an internship with Blue Origin in 2024. Enrolled or recently graduating student attending a college or university. Able to start working full-time on or before September of 2025. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc).
