The UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is looking for an outstanding LEAD PHARMACY TECHNICIAN to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team!

WORK SCHEDULE · 40 hours per week · Evening shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS · Perform a variety of technical and specialized pharmaceutical tasks in a pharmacy and assists with the development and implementation of procedures · Under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, the Lead Pharmacy Technician will regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Direct the work of interns, students, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants · Assist in coordinating and conducting the instruction and training on technical, specialized and distributive functions · Participate in the development and implementation of procedures · Assist in maintaining accurate time and attendance records · Schedule pharmacy technician and pharmacy assistant staff · Perform documentation functions, including billing, in designated areas of the pharmacy · Monitor and perform in-house manufacturing of pharmaceuticals · Perform order entry of medication orders into the pharmacy computer · Assist with periodic peer review and evaluation of pharmacy assistants and interns · Participate in process improvement program development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring · Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician II

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT
State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
