Alaska Airlines, Inc. Manager Network Reliability in Seattle, Washington

DUTIES:

Responsible for leading, managing, and developing a team of engineers that play a critical role in sustainment in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for all operational support of the Enterprise network. Define, document, and communicate policies for daily network operations. Support the development of the departmental strategic roadmap and works autonomously to deliver on the tactical roadmap; manage full life cycle processes for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades; coach and contribute to the continuous process improvement life cycle that drives operational excellence; and develop programs to measure and track to performance goals, including process performance (ticket handling). Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.  Responsible for shaping the culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. Responsible for monitoring and reporting against the Network Operations financial budget.

 

REQUIREMENTS:             

Bachelor's degree* in computer science, engineering, or closely related field or the foreign degree equivalent; and 5 years of experience in network support and/or network engineering, including:

- - - 2 years of leadership experience; - 5 years of supporting a large enterprise environment (multi-building campus, MAN/WAN) and enterprise-class solutions; and - 5 years of experience working within a highly critical data center environment with absolute adherence to change control process, while providing customer support and working with vendors and across teams to meet business objectives.

 

Experience can be gained concurrently. *In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, Employer will accept 2 years of network support and/or network engineering experience.

 

SALARY:               $139,700-$209,500/year

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. LOCATION:                        40 hours/week in Seattle, WA (Telecommuting from any state in the United States where Alaska Airlines operates, except California, is permitted)
