Amazon Marketing Manager, Events, Consumer Electronics in Seattle, Washington

The Consumer Electronics (CE) Marketing team is looking for an experienced Retail professional to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of cross-channel gifting, deals, and seasonal events for US Consumer Electronics (CE) categories including PC/Laptops, Video Games, Wireless, Camera, TVs and Home Entertainment, Audio and Headphones, Musical Instruments, Office Products, and Software. CE Marketing’s vision is to establish Amazon as a premier shopping destination where customers seamlessly discover, research, and purchase the products they want. The Demand Generation team is focused on generating incremental demand for CE products, improving operational efficiency, and raising the bar for the CE customer experience.

As the Events Marketing Manager, you will partner with central teams to lead end-to-end strategic planning and delivery for key CE shopping events including Tax Prep, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, Back to School, Off to College, Holiday, and more. You will develop the Events strategy and calendar for CE categories, lead the operational plan, and work with partner teams to execute events and report out on performance metrics and learnings. Additionally, you will own and contribute to leadership documents, including Quarterly Business Reviews and annual planning documents, and work closely with product managers, tech, and BI teams to drive technical enhancements in our tools and systems used for event submissions and reporting. This position will require you to understand customer and vendor needs, collaborate with and influence stakeholders, and demonstrate a significant level of independent thought, an ability to embrace ambiguity, and a passion to invent and simplify and drive process efficiency. The ideal candidate will be customer obsessed, have the ability to think creatively, have a data-driven mindset, and challenge the status quo.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and document CE's events strategy and calendar, and obtain alignment from CE leadership and partner team stakeholders.

• Develop and document CE's business goals and performance reporting for events, and reiterate strategy based on past performance.

• Partner with central teams to execute impactful, multi-channel events that resonate with CE customers and achieve CE business goals.

• Make data-driven decisions, ensuring marketing and traffic strategies across all channels optimize for efficiency and performance.

• Collaborate with central and BI teams to develop a sophisticated metrics dashboard for events.

• Collaborate with creative teams to select and surface relevant and consistent graphics across events.

• Develop mechanisms to communicate proactively and effectively with partner teams, CE categories, and senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship Retail business or marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills

  • Ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done

  • Ability to influence cross-functional partner teams

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and highly visible projects independently and autonomously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs

  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives

  • Experience using SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis

  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting

  • Demonstrable history of defining marketing strategy and executional excellence

  • Strong design sensibility; ability to manage shaping/driving of customer perception and behavior with compelling concepts and art direction

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
