Amazon Network Development Engineer, Perimeter Protection (Anti-DDoS) in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

AWS Shield is looking to hire highly motivated, best-in-class Network Development Engineers for our Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Response Team to drive the security and stability of our network, while innovating the automation of our operations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of technical leadership, success in autonomously and/or collaboratively driving complex issues to resolution, and an “automation first” mindset. The candidate can also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of network engineering and/or security, and be able to clearly communicate design best practices to customers to help them scale under load. They will have regularly demonstrated operational excellence in supporting a large-scale service provider or enterprise environment, including event management. As a technical leader, the candidate will manage complex stakeholder relationships, both technical and leadership. A love for working with new technologies and pushing the envelope on existing technology is essential!

This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon’s world class technical teams, working with some of the best and brightest engineers, while developing your skills and furthering your career within one of the most innovative and progressive technology companies anywhere.
