Finance & Budget StrategyThe Operations Support Analyst will provide transaction and application support for finance business units, including procurement, accounting, and tax management operational areas. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring, configuration, and analysis to support third-party integrated platforms such as GHX EDI and the Thomson Reuters OneSource tax management system. The role requires strong technical and analytical skills to assist in the efficient operation of these platforms and to help evolve them in response to new processes and technologies. The candidate will support procurement, accounting, tax office, and general finance operations, ensuring smooth integration and functionality across systems and impacted stakeholders. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Systems Analysis and Transaction Support
Provide day-to-day technical and transactional support for GHX EDI and Thomson Reuters OneSource platforms, ensuring system stability and operational efficiency.
Analyze system issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions while coordinating with internal stakeholders in procurement, finance, and accounting to ensure systems meet business needs.
Identify issues and risk trends based on incoming tickets, critically evaluate information from multiple sources, and develop system-wide solutions to resolve business process flows or configuration issues.
Oversee incoming tickets, ensuring proper escalation for critical or enterprise-wide concerns and collaborating with production support units (e.g., UWIT) to address break fixes and configuration changes.
Collaborate with the Application Support team to manage campus-wide communications related to Workday and other enterprise systems, serving as a liaison between UW Finance, Planning & Budgeting (FPB), and the support and governance teams.
Work closely with functional subject matter experts across UW FPB, providing targeted training and support as needed, and developing tools and resources for both business partners and Shared Environments.
Assist in routine system maintenance, application upgrades, and configuration changes while documenting and maintaining process flows, system configurations, and resolutions for troubleshooting.
Coordinate with other UW FPB analysts in a virtual team to ensure that processes across systems are integrated and work as intended, maintaining a collaborative approach to problem-solving and system support.Project/Program Support
Assist in the planning and execution of system-related projects, ensuring that enhancements and integrations align with business and operational goals.
Work with stakeholders to define and document functional and technical requirements, translating them into clear project specifications.
Support testing activities, validate functionality during upgrades or implementations, and ensure defects are identified and resolved promptly.
Manage communication and training for system changes, ensuring stakeholders are informed of updates and their impacts on operations.
Monitor project milestones, provide status updates, and ensure alignment across teams to keep projects on schedule.
Serve as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth system integrations and project outcomes.
Support transition to new systems or processes, offering troubleshooting and completing accurate post-project documentation.Other duties as assigned
Ad-hoc Analysis and Reporting: Provide ad-hoc analysis, generate reports, and offer insights on system performance, transaction trends, and process improvements as needed by leadership or other departments.
Cross-Departmental Support: Assist other teams and departments with troubleshooting, training, and addressing system-related issues, ensuring consistency and efficiency in operations across the organization.
Process Documentation and Improvement: Continuously contribute to the development and improvement of internal procedures, documentation, and system workflows to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with evolving standards and best practices.
Operate in a matrixed environment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in business systems analysis, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and transactional support.OR
Masters Business, Information Systems, or related field and two years of experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of procurement and financial operations.
Familiarity with GHX EDI, Thomson Reuters OneSource, or similar tax and financial systems.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop actionable solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in system implementation and process improvement.
Familiarity with evolving technology platforms and ability to adapt to changes.
