The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has outstanding opportunities for temporary, Phlebotomists . In this role you will primarily work at the outpatient Roosevelt Clinic, and may rotate to South Lake Union and/or East Side areas (as needed) performing Phlebotomy on patients of all ages. You will answer routine phone calls, triage and communicate with clinic staff, physicians and patients.

WORK SCHEDULE are generally Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduation AND completion of a phlebotomy courseOR

  • Equivalent education/experience

  • Legal Requirement: Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with the Washington State Department of Health, OR obtain the MA-P within 60 days of start date. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare patient and collection equipment.

  • Perform phlebotomy on patients.

  • Instruct patients on proper collection of urine specimens.

  • Perform laboratory-testing procedures.

  • Interact with patients, their families, departmental and hospital staff.

  • Perform related duties as required.
