Amazon Principal Product Manager, Technical - Curation, PubTech Data, Insights & Analytics in Seattle, Washington

Amazon’s Publisher Technology team is looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager-Technical who will help define the vision and strategy for a new program.

You are passionate about customers and data. You use market research, competitive analysis, and direct communication with customers to make informed decisions. You set the product vision, define use cases, analyze customer and financial implications, and ultimately choose the most promising path for success. You will work directly with external customers to collect inputs, define requirements, and release features. You drive prioritization across multiple development teams, communication with internal stakeholders, user testing with customers, and the go to market plan with product marketing ensuring strong customer adoption of your features. You build bridges between our Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to successfully position your products.

The right candidate will possess a strong product management background, will have demonstrated experience leading and delivering on medium to large products and projects, will have background in digital advertising reporting, and will have a well-rounded background in current advertising technologies. You will partner with engineering leaders to build the long-term and short-term roadmap and ensure timely release of products and solutions. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager who has the passion to lead and direct large-scale, complex, multi-year product and data/science roadmaps across organizations, executives, stakeholders, with the ability to influence partner teams, scientists, and engineers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic vision and execute product roadmaps and delivery commitments.

  • Make prioritization tradeoffs based on a deep understanding of underlying technical services

  • Execute a go to market strategy across marketing, sales, service, and operations channels

  • Drive the success of your product through scalable mechanisms

  • Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to develop prototypes and validate new bespoke concepts

  • Analyze voice-of-the-customer feedback and quality benchmark results to inform decision-making

  • Stay up-to-date with industry publications and new developments in the field

A day in the life

Cut through ambiguity, apply mechanisms, deliver requirements and engage deeply with science and engineering to deliver bar raising customer experiences. Ultimately, you own the customer experience, with customer satisfaction as your ultimate success measure. You will engage with science and engineering teams daily, and update senior leadership on progress weekly. This is a high velocity, high ambiguity problem space, scrappiness and ability to drive teams with clarity will allow for success.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
