The Program / Project - Sr. Manager will provide the organizational and program management support required to advance the objectives of the enterprise data governance program, promote data policies and standards, enable automation of data management workflows, and enhance the effectiveness of the growing book of business. Responsibilities include: Planning, governance (controls), and execution for large, complex initiatives and for functionally overseeing a team of Project Managers to successfully deliver highly visible outputs/products for Verizon. Ability to quickly understand the scope of new and existing programs and systemize the capacity planning. Leading efforts to proactively identify risks and issues across the portfolio and facilitates early remediation. Defining tools and templates to support release planning, sprint schedules, status reporting, and milestone tracking. Identify, communicate, and coordinate interdependencies across portfolios. Facilitating the Data & Analytics Governance program committees, including preparation, document development, & note capture. Developing and collecting monthly KPIs for the Data Governance program. Facilitating communication among pillars and create communication plans. Establishing and maintaining relationships with client stakeholders, providing regular contact on project status and changes. Establishing and maintaining processes to manage scope over the program lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects. What we're looking for... The successful candidate for this role will: Excel in the ability to establish effective work methodology and structure across teams, multi-level communication, risk and issue management, change management, test driven development with an emphasis on quality and continuous delivery of business and client-valued outcomes on time. Will possess a wealth of practical experience in program and project management, in coaching teams in the agile mindset, and have an established track record of leading the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise projects that cover the full spectrum of the technology process (initiation, planning, design, implementation/testing, deployment, post-deployment). Candidate will be well structured, people friendly and able to work across the functions. You'll need to have: Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or Engineering or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant experience. Three of more years of Agile methodology experience. Proven knowledge of data governance frameworks. Strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle. Even better if you have one or more of the following: PMP or PRINCE2 certifications. Strong knowledge of program/project management methods and tools; SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban. Knowledge of project tracking tools e.g. JIRA. Experience delivering projects in the IT / data management area: BI/DW, MDM, Analytics, Data Science, Data Gov. and / or Data Quality.
