Granite Construction Company Project Administrator II in Seattle, Washington

General Summary This project specific position is responsible for assisting and supporting onsite Project Managers, Estimating Teams and/or Project Engineers in performing multiple administrative functions to ensure efficient, cost effective and professional project operations. Position concludes at completion of project - anticipated 2.5 years. Essential Job Accountabilities * Assist the project team with job startup tasks and attend pre-construction meeting to ensure job is started on time. * Create and maintain accurate files for all agreements to ensure proper documentation is readily available. * Prepare subcontract progress pay estimates and approve invoices for payment upon verification of proper insurance and executed agreement. Coordinate the release of progress pay estimates and retention payments to subcontractors. * Ensure subcontractor payments and owner billings are timely and i accordance with prompt payment statues. * Process and monitor owner required paperwork to ensure Granite and subcontractor compliance. * Prepare and update tracking logs for project team ensuring job progress is accurately measured. * Process accruals and journal entries to ensure job cost is reflected properly. * Assist the project team with documentation of the validation of DBE's commercially useful function requirements, DBE payment certifications, and Granite's good faith efforts to attain DBE goals during the Project Execution Phase (Post-award) to ensure compliance with Federal and State contract requirements. * Maintain project documentation and safekeeping to ensure compliance with project document management processes and systems. * Prepare and run cost reports (e1 and FIS), distribute to project team, perform specialized cost analysis and research projects as requested to ensure accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness. * Perform a variety of administrative and office support functions to ensure the daily operations of the department run efficiently. * Main point of contact for subcontractors and owner on all administrative functions. Education and Work Experience * High School diploma or Equivalent required * BA or Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred * 2 years of experience in office administration preferred * 2+ years of experience in construction administration preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Team player * Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) * Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills * High attention to detail and accuracy * Working knowledge of the Purchasing and Account Payable module in JD Edwards preferred * 10 Key by touch * Basic understanding of IT hardware and software terminology * Able to learn new computer systems quickly * Basic understanding of cost tracking and controls principles * Working knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and terminology preferred * Ability to operate with all levels of staff * Willingness to take on additional tasks * Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
