As a Quality Analyst, your job responsibilities would include:

Project Management

  • Represent the Process Engineering team in cross-functional projects

  • Manage the process change management intake mechanism

  • Identify and escalate potential risks that may impact project timelines

Analytics and Quality Assurance

  • Develop and maintain metrics for continuous process improvement

  • Identify trends, patterns, and potential defects in contact handling processes

  • Support all aspects of process-related experiments and pilots

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Identify and implement technological solutions to automate and optimize process engineering tools

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve and streamline organizational processes

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple teams on process improvement initiatives

Key job responsibilities

The Quality Analyst, Process Engineering plays a vital role in supporting Shipping and Delivery Support's process engineering initiatives by providing data-driven insights and project management. This position will use a blend of analytical skills and project coordination to effectively gather, analyze, and present the team's data.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of using data to drive improvements, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. This role is crucial in providing the foundation for informed decision-making in process engineering across the organization.

A day in the life

A typical day for the Quality Analyst, Process Engineering starts with reviewing project timelines and prioritizing tasks. They analyze process data using Excel and SQL, identifying trends. Mid-morning involves a cross-functional meeting to discuss findings and coordinate data collection. After lunch, they create dashboards for key metrics and manage the process management intake tool. They end the day by drafting a proposal for a new data visualization tool to enhance team capabilities.

About the team

The Process Engineering team is responsible for owning and optimizing contact handling processes across Shipping and Delivery Support. In this role, you'll work with process engineers and program managers dedicated to improving how we support Amazon customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

  • 2+ years of analytics experience

  • Proficient in MS Excel

  • Basic SQL knowledge

  • Experience in complex problem solving, root cause analysis in a business environment

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience keeping multiple projects on track and delivered by deadline

  • Bachelor’s degree, industry certifications, or equivalent experience in project management, program management, business analysis, information systems, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management certification such as PMP or Prince2.

  • Proficient in SQL.

  • Experience working with GenAI, including prompt engineering.

  • Project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, working under tight timelines, and delivering results

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication abilities including skills in explaining technical topics to novices and collaborating with subject matter experts, global stakeholders, and managers.

  • Proven ability to demonstrate agile mindset to adapt to evolving requirements and make progress despite ambiguity.

  • Experience with customer service or delivery organizations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $71,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
