Job Description
The Risk Manager, Environmental, Health, and Safety is responsible for developing and maintaining Nordstrom’s health and safety policies, standards, programs, and processes. This role primarily focuses on employee injury prevention and occupational health and safety compliance for Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and the Corporate Office. Additionally, it provides regulatory and compliance support to the Supply Chain and Facilities Safety departments. The Risk Manager, EHS, will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager, Risk, whose team manages program execution, as well as other EHS organizations within Supply Chain and Facilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop compliant safety strategies, programs, procedures, and training for all the assigned areas of responsibility, including corporate offices and stores, in partnership with the Senior Manager, Risk.
Serve as the subject matter expert for EHS policies, practices, and state/federal safety regulatory requirements.
Partner with Senior Manager, Risk to support occupational health and safety compliance, safety training compliance, and employee injury prevention strategies and mitigation plans.
Support the investigation of injuries as needed, including root causes, and confirm or coach injury prevention actions.
Support locations and respond to regulatory agency inquiries and inspections (e.g., OSHA, Fire Department)
Perform facility compliance inspections or audits, document results, and support future compliance by developing strategies, promoting training, and/or providing safety coaching.
Review reports, analyze injury trends and deliver mitigation recommendations to the Risk Management Team.
Manage vendors and associated programs, processes, or procedures, as well as function as an internal liaison for key leaders.
Support environmental, property, and customer incident investigations and resolutions.
Collaborate with the Risk Management Team in matters relating to crisis management and emergency preparation, planning, and response.
Engage and coordinate, at regular intervals, with Supply Chain Operations and Facilities EHS.
Partner with the store design and operations teams to proactively influence the creation maintenance of safe work areas.
You own this if you have...
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Management or related field
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or master’s degree preferred.
10+ years Risk Control or Safety Management related experience
Experience managing OSHA investigations and writing/managing safety compliance programs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and RMIS systems
Excellent written/oral communication skills and a collaborative outlook

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $90,000-$175,000 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
