Job Title: General Labor/Firewatch - Shipyard

Job Description

This is a general labor/firewatch position at a shipyard in Seattle. The work will be performed on U.S. Navy Destroyers. The primary objective of this role is to assist trades personnel in performing maintenance and repair of the vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Remove flammable objects from the area where hot work is being performed.

  • Stand watch to ensure there are no fires.

  • Perform heavy lifting, set up and clean up work sites, and move materials and tools around.

  • Engage in activities such as cable pulling, banding cable, needle gunning, chiseling, grinding, containment, and trades assistance.

Essential Skills

  • General labor experience

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools

  • Firewatch experience

  • Experience in shipyard and ship repair

  • Cable pulling

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Eligibility to obtain a DBIDS/Green badge to work on U.S. Navy ships

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently

  • Ability to wear a respirator while working

  • Ability to climb ladders

  • Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
