Overview

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is a 336 bed non-profit facility providing quality health care to patients and communities in and around Seattle Washington. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 139 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states, making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing a safe, secure environment for the care and welfare of the Medical Center staff, patients, visitors and properties through providing leadership and support for the day-to-day operations of Security Services.

Qualifications

We Require

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent, required. Also required are: knowledge of crime/loss prevention, investigative techniques, and applicable local, state and federal laws; ability to interact positively with staff, providers, patients, and visitors; sound judgment in evaluating and reacting to situations under emergency and high-stress conditions; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong skills in the use of computers (Microsoft Word and Excel, E-mail), scanner, digital camera, and the use of special security programs including employee ID photo database, security report database, and Washington State Law.

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Three years of increasingly responsible security experience in a healthcare setting is also preferred. IAHSS (International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety) Certification (Basic, Advanced, or Supervisor), or ability to obtain certification within 1 year of hire.

Pay Range

$31.94 to $46.31/hour
