Amazon Senior Communications Manager, Executive Customer Speaker Program in Seattle, Washington

The AWS Executive Speaker Program is looking for an experienced communications manager to deliver engaging customer stories that educate and influence the awareness, adoption, and usage of AWS services. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technology, can easily translate technical subject matter into compelling narratives, and coach speakers to present themselves and their companies in the best light possible.

This role may sit in these locations only: Arlington, VA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA Relocation offered to these locations only from within the USA only.

Key job responsibilities

-Partner with AWS sales, marketing, and leadership teams to source, vet, and approve customer speakers

-Work with customers to translate their use cases into compelling stories that highlight how AWS is enabling business transformation and customer success.

-Coach customer speakers on how to effectively deliver presentations at in-person and online events.

-Manage agency resources to develop creative visuals in support of each customer's story

-Lead the development of multiple customer stories for concurrent events

-Willingness to travel at least 25%.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

About the team

The AWS Executive Customer Speaker Program supports the vetting, selection, and preparation of customer speakers for inclusion in AWS keynotes at events such as AWS re:Invent, Global Summits, AWS re:Inforce, and internal meetings. To support AWS main stage keynote opportunities, the team provides guidance on content development and delivers speaker coaching for both AWS executives and customer speakers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing or communications experience

  • 5+ years of experience building or working with agencies to build presentations.

  • Experience in executive communications

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Cloud Certification

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

  • 3+ years working in tech

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
