Description
The Benefits Communications team enables Amazon’s global workforce to effectively engage with a portfolio of health, financial, and workplace benefits designed to support their overall well-being. To deliver on this mission, we’re seeking an exceptional communicator to lead employee communications and engagement for health and wellness benefits, serving Amazon’s U.S. workforce of over 1 million employees.
In this role, you'll be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, executing, and analyzing multi-touch communication campaigns to promote awareness and utilization of Amazon's health and wellness offerings in the U.S. You'll keep employees informed about new benefit launches, changes, and enhancements, including Amazon's annual benefit open enrollment, and drive required actions when necessary. This position demands an excellent writer and editor with a curiosity for exploring unfamiliar or complex topics, and a talent for transforming technical details into clear, approachable communications. Your work will directly impact the employee experience, ensuring both corporate and operations staff have the information they need to make informed choices about their benefits.
This highly cross-functional position requires close collaboration with teams across Amazon including Benefits Strategy, Benefits Technology, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and Compliance. We’re looking for a collaborative problem-solver who can adeptly balance the diverse needs and perspectives of multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in a fluid, fast-paced environment, effectively managing ambiguity and shifting requirements. They demonstrate strong ownership, exercise high-judgment decision-making, manage independently, and possess a drive for results.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with benefit program owners to develop an annual editorial calendar and execution strategy that aligns with key milestones, initiatives, and business objectives
Work backwards from qualitative and quantitative data to understand knowledge gaps around Amazon’s health benefits, and develop creative strategies to improve awareness, understanding, and utilization
Write crisp, compelling copy to raise the bar on user-friendly communications that are easy for employees to consume and understand
Operationalize a robust review process that ensures all content is factually accurate, grammatically correct, and adheres to Amazon’s communication style, tone, and voice
Manage end-to-end campaign planning and execution: analyze business needs, develop content and channel strategies, create and manage a project plan, and set up mechanisms to ensure programs are on track
Experiment with different communications tactics, channels, and messaging strategies aimed at improving awareness and engagement rates
Coordinate across internal partners and channels to embed benefits messaging into a variety of channels, ensuring consistency across all employee touch points
Understand and respond to testing metrics and performance data to define, adjust, and influence the direction of content and communications
Manage a communications budget and third-party creative agencies
Periodic domestic business travel may be required
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of professional communications, public relations, or marketing experience
8+ years developing and managing internal or external communication campaigns from concept to results
Experience writing and editing across a variety of communications channels
Experience driving direction and alignment across a complex, cross-functional organization
Portfolio of work demonstrating digital copywriting capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related discipline
Experience writing about or marketing health and wellness initiatives
Experience writing communications for a diverse, remote, and mobile workforce
Experience leading communications for U.S. benefits open enrollment
Experience leading large, complex projects involving multiple teams, stakeholders, workstreams, and deliverables
Experience using artificial intelligence for writing and editing
Experience working closely with and influencing senior leaders
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: 1) developing and editing basic HTML templates, 2) Tableau, QuickSight, or similar data visualization tool, 3) Adobe design programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, 4) email marketing platforms (Pardot, Marketo, etc)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
