Blue Origin LLC Senior Fluids Systems Engineer - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will work on the design, analysis, development, and qualification of propellant systems on a re-usable launch vehicle. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of detailed mechanical design, requirements, layouts, structural analysis, component selection, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and test definition. To be successful in this position you will have proven skills in mechanical design, structural analysis, aerospace material selection, manufacturing processes, engineering release and vendor management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent 7+ years of proven experience in the design of fluid systems Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) Solid understanding of fluid components such as valves, bellows, tubing, and other pressurized hardware Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred) Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent Experience designing internally pressurized gimbal type expansion joints and flex hoses Experience designing systems with RP-1, Oxygen, Peroxide and Nitrogen in liquid and/or gaseous states Proven understanding of aerospace materials and treatments Solid understanding of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control techniques relevant to tubes, machined components, and welded hardware Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications Thermal Desktop (Sinda Fluint), AFT (Fathom/Arrow), Excel based models, REFPROP Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $136,467.00-$191,053.80 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
