Amazon Undiscovered Small Business Accelerator (USBA) is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Operations to support the Growth Accelerator organization. This position will 1) drive operations mechanisms, reporting directly to the L8 leader, manage internal and external cultural engagement and overall employee satisfaction, 2) partner with the leadership team to develop and drive operational processes such as business reviews, finance and operations, goal management, AURIS, all-teams meetings and have general ownership of the organization’s business cadence and, 3) work closely across USBA cross-functionally with 3P teams, and business partners from Finance, HR, Legal, and Recruiting to ensure structure, prioritization, and programs tracking that execute on the USBA vision. The ideal candidate influences successfully at all levels, thinks strategically, is a talented writer, a strong organizer, takes initiative, and operates effectively across many teams.

The candidate will thrive in ambiguous situations, navigating between the details and big picture, and playing the primary role of owner of our organization’s most visible documents including: monthly and quarterly business reviews, annual operating plans, 3-year vision plans, and the supporting artifacts, including but not limited to plan of record, resource planning and resource management. Able to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This candidate will develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up their sleeves, dig in, and get the job done. This role will leverage business acumen, leadership experience, technical skills, and influence over authority to promote alignment and deliver data driven results. Being able to anticipate bottlenecks, escalate effectively, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. The ability to take large, complex projects, break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. High judgment, negotiation skills, ability to employ scalable mechanisms, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

Key job responsibilities:

• This detail-oriented leader will wear many hats, as a business liaison working across other teams at Amazon, and as a thought leader and business partner for the organization

• Design and manage operating mechanisms to drive the rhythm of the business across the Growth Accelerator organization

• Responsible for driving the creation and maintenance of operating plan (OP) documents and other business documents, identify potential risks and opportunities, and surface insights to management to improve the health of the business

• Support the leadership team (LT) on strategic direction, goals & operating priorities, team engagement, and operating performance management priorities. Specifically, all related headcount and costs aligned to OP

• Ensure implementation and execution of auditing and operating mechanisms, including tracking goals, escalations, forward looking program needs, review of VP+ documents

• Standardize and scale best practices and learnings across the organization

Lead monthly reviews with leaders to maintain alignment of programs and solutions to strategic roadmap and OP documents

• Ensure programs are coordinated across the organization by establishing a cross-functional governance model

• Facilitate reviews of future-facing ideas with the LT on a monthly basis to drive progress on programs and pre-empt escalations and issues

• Align and execute agenda/topics for leadership offsite meetings

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of program or product management experience

  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing

  • Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Master’s degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills

  • 3+ years of Amazon leadership experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
