Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Permit Specialist to join our Aspect Consulting Branch in the Seattle or Yakima, WA offices, remote work location, or a hybrid schedule, at the company's discretion. In this role, you will work on complex projects involving water supply management and permitting. Our water resources group work on projects ranging from water supply development, water supply management, water rights, mining hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, regulatory permitting, and source water protection. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help expand current firm practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You will be engaged in a wide range of permitting and technical duties within our water resources practice, with a focus on projects in the northwest. Building on your past work experience with mentorship from our senior staff, your typical responsibilities will include: Helping client and agency interactions under the mentoring of an Aspect Principal; Mentoring staff-level water rights professionals as part of your project team; Presenting technical information to state and local agencies and the public; Technical report writing; Reviewing and interpreting water rights files with Nevada water law, including Nevada Revised Statutes Chapters 533 and 534, Nevada Administrative Code Chapters 533 and 534, Nevada Division of Water Resources policies and procedures, and case law; Reviewing and interpreting water use data, including aerial photos, metering data, land use, and crop records; Conducting field investigations, including estimation of water use, well inspections, streamflow monitoring, and a range of related activities to support water resource projects; Performing simple to complex quantitative spreadsheet analyses; Performing a range of water rights permitting activities, including new and change applications; Helping implement water rights purchases and sales through due diligence investigations; Supporting environmental permitting (e.g., NEPA, NPDES, and parallel state-administered programs); and Assisting in hydrogeologic and engineering tasks related to water resource permitting projects.
