Amazon Senior Policy Manager, Global Content Policy, Prime Video in Seattle, Washington

Description

Prime Video’s mission is to be the earth’s largest entertainment store. We are looking for an experienced Senior Policy Manager to own strategy and implementation of Prime Video’s (PV) global content policies that impact all content on PV, including video-on-demand and live content. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining global policies for PV that aim to protect PV customers and the PV brand.

You will be a trusted advisor to Operations, Business leaders, legal, Public Relations and Public Policy on high-visibility escalations and a primary stakeholder for the Product and Tech teams for launching new features and tooling to manage risk in the PV catalog.

As a Senior Policy Manager, you will set the direction for supporting PV’s growth through robust and consistent policies. You will partner with fellow policy managers as well as Amazon-wide stakeholders to calibrate new policies, prioritize new initiatives and ensure delivery against senior leadership goals.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop or revise policy guidelines for all content on PV to build a trustworthy customer experience

  • Author standard operating procedures based on policy guidelines for operators

  • Lead discussions on policy calibrations by collaborating with Legal, Public Policy and Public Relations

  • Conduct benchmarking and academic research to develop risk assessment frameworks

  • Advice Business Managers on new content acquisitions by conducting risk assessments of new acquisitions

  • Serve as an owner and advisor on high-risk escalations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for product teams and provide business requirements to build internal analytical and moderation tools

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience working in a policy or risk management role on a global scale.

  • 5+ years of experience developing new policies and process improvements at a global scale.

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of online content risks and industry standards and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in relevant field (e.g., JD, MA, Public Policy)

  • Experience developing new policies and process improvements at a global scale

  • Knowledge of online content risks and industry standards and best practices

  • Familiarity in content moderation operations

  • Experience in working with customer studies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to senior leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, mitigate, and manage business risks and tradeoffs in a high-pressure environment

  • Proven ability to drive consensus in crisis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
