The Controls Optimization & Management, Process Automation, and Solutions Support (COMPASS) is seeking a Sr. Risk Manager to support Worldwide Consumer controllership. Our top priority is controllership. We are looking for a leader that will drive change across the organization, stay ahead of financial, operational and compliance risks, and strengthen our control environment.

You will be eager to document and evaluate key functional processes within the consumer business, identifying new risk areas and developing and enhancing controls built for scale. We are tasked with protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the financial data as it flows from source documents through to our financial results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support projects to enhance WW Consumer controllership processes related to owned and leased asset management and tracking, procurement, inventory, OPEX, and unearned revenue.

  • Functional maintenance of the Consumer Controllership Framework; Objectives, Risks and Controls.

  • Establish a risk posture and mechanisms to rate risks within the consumer organization

  • Partner with related finance and business and technology teams to mitigate identified controls risks

  • Track control defects, partner with business teams to conduct deep dives on defects and offer near-term and long term solutions to close identified gaps.

  • Define and deliver a Controls Self-Assessment for your assigned functional areas.

  • Drive controllership in WW Consumer processes, partnering with process excellence teams to minimize process inefficiencies and improve data integrity

  • Drive regular continuous improvement, education and communication initiatives with business partners

  • Drive consumer leadership team controllership goals across the organization

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.

  • Provide input to development of Amazon's internal GRC

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, information systems or a related field.

  • 5+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading teams and driving technology risk management processes, methodologies and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of risk management policies, methods, standards, processes, governance models, and risk analysis.

  • Experience with financial processes, including Fixed Assets/Leases, order to cash, and procure to pay, inventory, Revenue (unearned revenue), ITGCs.Public accounting experience in assurance roles for large global publicly traded companies

  • Skilled in business risk analysis and making operational and technical trade-offs between short versus long-term risk mitigation goals.

  • Multidisciplinary experience in risk management, program management and accounting.

  • CPA, CFE, CIA or MBA

  • Proven ability to take ownership, self-motivate, and deliver results in highly ambiguous environments.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, problem solve, and make decisions in complex situations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.

  • Ability to think and innovate at scale.

  • Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
