Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, AWS Cloud Operations in Seattle, Washington

Description

How do we help customers to detect, diagnose and remediate operations issues across all of their varied resources, in turn improving their security, reliability, efficiency, compliance and cost savings? It's a hard problem to solve. Come, join us at AWS Systems Manager (SSM) as we address this problem by offering a collection of tools that provides customer visibility into their operation health and control to their infrastructure on AWS, allowing them to quickly and safely remediate operational issues at bulk through the operational tasks automation. As a Software Developer on the SSM team, you will work with a group of amazing and talented engineers, solving hard problems and contributing to building the next generation of intelligent tools and technologies that makes managing operations at a big scale a piece of cake!

Key job responsibilities

  • Help define the system architecture, own and implement specific components and features solving customer problems

  • Build highly available, secure, scalable, distributed and event-driven systems

  • Contribute to planning, architecture design, implementation, testing, process improvement and production support

  • Create clear, maintainable, well-documented code that meets coding standards and best practices

  • Share your knowledge and learning to build a strong collaborative and inclusive team

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
