Passionate about building, owning and operating massively scalable systems? Experienced in building and leading teams of highly competent software engineers? Want to make a billion-dollar impact? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is dedicated to building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. Our vision is to fully automate and enable zero-touch AWS deployments thereby reducing the time it takes to deploy new features and freeing engineers to focus on building new services and capabilities.

Deployment engineering is a complex process requiring close collaboration with AWS service teams. We are looking for passionate innovators who want to take the challenge. Your work has visibility to leadership across AWS organization and provides huge opportunity to learn new things while solving complex engineer problems, deliver results that make impact on revenue and resources, and grow professionally and personally.

Developers at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end-to-end, and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. Join a team of super smart, customer obsessed developers that think big and have fun.

Location: Seattle, WA (HQ).

Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Serverless in Seattle builds and supports fully managed services, such as ELB, L7, Privatelink, Lambda, Simple Workflow, Step Functions and internal services that power our cloud offerings. Our customers are able to build scalable, fault-tolerant production systems without thinking about the needed infrastructure, capacity management, or large scaling events. Many of the hard problems of distributed systems are abstracted away by our Serverless services, so that our customers can focus on solving their business problems.

Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.

The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work

A day in the life

On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide automation and scripting support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

About the team

AWS Serverless is one of the fastest growing AWS organizations and we are looking for technical leaders who share our passion to change the way the world computes. Serverless is a way to describe the services, practices, and strategies that enable you to build more agile applications so you can innovate and respond to change faster. With serverless computing, infrastructure management tasks like capacity provisioning and patching are handled by AWS, so you can focus on only writing code that serves your customers.
