Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Enterprise Engineering in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Enterprise Engineering organization is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with a strong background in cloud platforms development. We are using AWS products to evolve traditional enterprise tools and services or building new high-performance services – if you are passionate about Amazon and have experience building critical services at global scale, this is the team for you.

In this role, you'll drive innovation, write the front-end and back-end software that delivers a service for use by all Amazonians, leveraging the scalability and innovation with Amazon's AWS cloud services.

Key job responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing and building services that scale for millions of global users.

Driving new innovation in the Amazon/AWS ecosystem.

Work with and learn many different technologies every day including Java, Python, etc.

Solving complex problems with elegant solutions by working across teams and organizations in Amazon.

Expanding your own skills by constantly learning and experimenting with new tools and ideas to evolve your team's processes.

Deeply own the full stack and entire life-cycle of our products, from the roadmap to the architecture to implementation and continuous iterative development.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
