Sonos Inc. Software Development Engineer in Test, Mobile Applications in Seattle, Washington

This role is a hybrid position Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston or Seattle office locations. As a Mobile Applications Software Development Engineer in Test within the Sonos Professional organization, you will be responsible for implementing test automation for new setup and configuration features in the Sonos mobile application for our newly developed business to business channel. Customers of the Sonos Pro organization differ from residential customers in the size of the systems they deploy and their expectations for the complexity with which those systems can be configured. They also have different expectations for how a system is managed and who has the authority to manage it. Sonos has only recently started offering products and services within the B2B space so you will be helping to define the features that differentiate Sonos from other commercial-audio solutions. You will work on our iOS and/or Android apps on multidisciplinary, agile teams. What You'll Do Dive into the Sonos system architecture and experience, which includes mobile controllers, device firmware, cloud, restfulAPIs, and Web, learning through first hand experience Implement automated testing and analytics for features in the Sonos iOS and/or Android apps. Monitor, debug and be responsible for improving our automated testing & analytics infrastructure Add new forms of telemetry, data, and metrics to allow the team to measure, debug, and make decisions based on data analytics and dashboards Contribute to the development experience via automated pipelines that includes timely feedback and a seamless path to release-level quality Collaborate with other cross-functional teams when issues are found in deployed/production features What You'll Need Basic Qualifications: 2+ years of related experience You have experience programming in Swift & Objective-C You have experience with the XCUITest testing framework You enjoy investigating issues and solving problems You can handle technical communication, understand the system architecture and customer experience You have experience with common source code control systems (e.g. git) Your written and verbal communication skills are strong Qualified applicants must be able to work from the Boston or Seattle office location for part of the work week. Preferred Qualifications: You may have experience with C++, Flutter, or Web Development Experience with UX design tools and specifications (e.g. Figma) Experience or exposure to distributed systems Knowledge of CI/CD working with mobile based architectures Experience with Jenkins Experience with Docker Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria.
