Amazon Software Development Engineer, Seller Pricing & Shared Services in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Pricing builds exceptional tools used by hundreds of thousands of Sellers to offer unmatched value to millions of Customers all over the world. Our programs support billions of price updates every month, covering the majority of products sold in the Amazon store. We are continually innovating across Desktop, Mobile, and our suite of APIs to help Sellers set better prices at scale. We are re-imagining how our Pricing tools can help Sellers manage their pricing decisions across multiple countries in a seamless manner. To achieve this vision we're looking for a software engineer who thinks big, and is motivated to help our Selling Partners succeed.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design solutions to complex and ambiguous problems, starting from customer first principles.

  • Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, and process improvements as a member of a Scrum team.

  • Play a leading role in defining system architecture, and system ownership.

  • Mentor junior engineers employing exemplary design and implementation practices.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of technology projects and operational excellence initiatives.

A day in the life

Global selling is critical to the growth of the worldwide Consumer business. As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of core Pricing tools that will enable Sellers to run a global business. The ideal candidate for this role has a passion for solving complex problems, has a bias for action, and thinks creatively. They thrive working on inter-connected systems, and on software that requires a breadth of technical development knowledge.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
