Qualtrics Software Engineer II (multiple positions) in Seattle, Washington

Qualtrics, LLC seeks Software Engineer II (multiple positions) in Seattle, WA.

 

Duties: Develop scalable, fast, robust, and simple web-based software solutions to solve complex business problems. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and other team members as needed to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance. Determine system performance standards. Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system (Jira), and report defects to software developers. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content. Contribute to frameworks, tools, and automation for complex, distributed software systems.  Convert manual test cases to automated cases in existing frameworks. Work closely with and incorporate feedback from engineers, product, operations, and management. Attend daily stand-up meetings, sprint meetings, and retrospectives, encouraging collaboration, prioritization, and urgency to develop quality products.

 

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, or a related field; plus 1 year of related experience. In the alternative, requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, or a related field; plus 3 years of related experience.

 

Must have any amount of experience with the following skills: 1) Object oriented programming language, such as Java, Javascript, Angular, Node, php, Python, C#, or C++. 2) Web infrastructure and distributed systems. 3) Relational databases and SQL. 4) Software development tools: Code Editors (VIM and Emacs), and Revision Control Systems (GIT). 5) UNIX including file manipulation and simple commands. 6) Building highly scalable performant solutions. 7) Algorithms. 8) Javascript specific technologies (libraries, frameworks) including Angular, Node.js, and React.
