Amazon Sr Financial Analyst, Selling Partner Services - WW Fee Controllership in Seattle, Washington

Selling Partner Services (SPS) is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the WW Fee Controllership team. This team oversees global revenue earned from the vast Seller network, including Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Merchant Fulfillment Network (MFN) sellers. Over 2 million sellers in 21 countries (and counting) list their products for sale on Amazon Marketplace. Sellers are a critical part of Amazon’s ecosystem to deliver on our vision of offering the earth’s largest selection and lowest prices. Our mission in WW FBA is to enable the long-term success of our sellers by offering best-in-class processes and tools that make FBA the simplest, most reliable, and profitable channel for our sellers.

We are looking for a driven self-starter to take charge and drive change in a fast-moving, dynamic global business environment. It is expected that the individual will ensure high standards on internal controls effectiveness and accuracy of month-end close and management reporting, including new project engagement and system integration. In this role, you will partner closely with Fee Strategy & Business, Fee Technology, Fee Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure fees charged to sellers are accurate, timely, and aligns with seller communication and internal strategy.

Reporting to the WW Fee Controller, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with large transaction volumes and data sets, analyze data flow and processes, dive deep into issues, and a have a passion for problem solving and simplification.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with Fee Strategy, Accounting, and Fee Tech teams to achieve business objectives while raising the bar on controllership

  • Consult on new business ideas to ensure end-to-end system, financial reporting, and operational excellence

  • Perform key reconciliations to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting

  • Perform recurring and ad-hoc audits of fee revenues

  • Partner with accounting to ensure accuracy of financials at month-end

  • Provide support with regards to any external/internal audit inquiries

  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal finance teams and business partners

A day in the life

in this role, you will work closely with multiple partner teams including fee Strategy team, FP&A, Fee Tech, and Accounting. You will leave an impact by conducting deep dives and building continuous monitoring mechanisms ensuring accuracy of fee revenues and surfacing any issues to WW FBA leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Prior experience with audit and/or risk assurance

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
