Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Tech, Business Analytics in Seattle, Washington

We are hiring for a Sr. Product Manager (Technical) to drive the evolution of Amazon's business analytics. You will own the analytics solution that enables Amazonians and Amazon's Selling Partners to get analytics, data visualization, reporting and insights to audit their business growth and profitability, and make data-driven decisions to improve their business. You will be responsible for leading the product development lifecycle for analytic products that surface data driven insights while ensuring ease of use, robust integration capabilities, and powerful data visualizations. This role has direct impact on thousands of Amazonians and hundreds of thousands of Selling Partners globally and the tools they use to grow their businesses.

To succeed in this role you must be an experienced Sr. Product Manager - Technical, who is a passionate advocate for customers. You should have a track record of end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You should always be looking to invent and simplify. You must earn trust with technical credibility and pragmatic decision making. Your approach to analytics should be focused on providing actionable insights not just data.

The Sr. Product Manager - Technical, will be fluent in a range of strategic and analytical approaches to product and technical leadership, including the ability to build compelling value propositions, influence stakeholders, and provide clarity on complex systems and dynamics via rigorously refined written and verbal communication.

A successfully candidate will

  • Be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-obsessed and team oriented.

  • Define the long-term product strategy and vision, and the feature design and technical approach to deliver on this vision.

  • Be able to manage multiple projects - including planning, prioritization, and task delegation. Work closely with developers through product launch.

  • Be able to identify customer requirements by considering data, customer feedback, and user research.

  • Work closely with stakeholders across multiple organizations to understand their business strategies and translate those into product features.

  • Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps and influence technology and business direction.

  • Communicate complex product concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Key job responsibilities

• Define and drive the multi-year vision and technical approach for your product portfolio and the team

• Lead strategic planning to achieve technical and business goals.

• Work with most senior leaders across Amazon Stores, as well as science, engineering, and finance leaders.

• Deliver 3YP, Vision, PRFAQS, and BRD docs.

• Own end-to-end product lifecycle and deliver long-lasting solutions.

• Influence priorities and business strategy through quantitative and qualitative contributions.

• Interact directly with stakeholders and users to continuously improve products and programs.

• Define clear goals and objectives for the business in the planning and execution space while identifying risks and strategizing mitigation plans.

• Mentor other product managers and continuously raise the technical product management bar.

About the team

This role is on the Chronicle team within Selling Partner Services. We own the Turismo product suite, which is powered by Ripple, a dynamic query engine. You will own the evolution of Turismo Analytics as well as drive the launch of cross-domain analytics to our selling partners (sellers and vendors).

We are a full stack team, with Product Managers, UX designers, TPMs, SDEs, DEs and Data Scientists. Our team is split between New York, Seattle, Vancouver and Chennai.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
