Amazon Sr. Risk Manager, SERSC (Seller Enforcement for Regulatory and Safety Compliance) in Seattle, Washington

The Seller Enforcement for Regulatory and Safety Compliance team within RISC is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to protect our customers from unsafe, offensive, and non-compliant products, and investigate potential bad actors attempting to misuse the Amazon platform. The Risk Manager will implement and take ownership of internal controls and procedures to ensure that only safe or compliant products are available in our stores. This leader will lead cross-functional initiatives with internal Legal, Business, Risk, and International teams to ensure that only permitted products are available on our store, and will take the lead in acting on risk signals to identify and investigate potential non-compliant sellers and bad actors for engagement and enforcement.

The right candidate needs to have a bias for action, comfort in navigating high levels of ambiguity, take strong ownership over their portfolio of work, and have a history of cross-functional engagement with a wide array of stakeholders. They will take the lead on several internal initiatives with a high degree of impact on Amazon customers and sellers, and high visibility within internal teams.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop and enact onboarding processes for new compliance initiatives into the Account Health platforms;

  2. Identify and drive opportunities to automate or refine compliance processes on a global scale;

  3. Build reporting mechanisms to identify potential bad actors;

  4. Partner with internal teams including Product Compliance and Adult Content Experience to ensure sellers comply with regulatory and Amazon requirements;

  5. Champion and execute new initiatives to improve Amazon controls;

  6. Drive internal change management around compliance and bad actor engagement;

  7. Develop short, medium, and long-term strategies to scale their program portfolio across multiple high risk initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
