Amazon Sr. Security Engineer, Defensive Security, Corporate Services Security (CPSS) in Seattle, Washington

Description

As a Senior Security Engineer in the Defensive Security team, you will play a pivotal role in integrating threat intelligence data into our security detections, developing cross-organizational tooling, and providing undifferentiated fraud emulation, detection, and response capabilities.

The Corporate Services Security (CPSS) organization is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join it's Defensive Security team. CPSS is responsible for protecting and defending the data and systems of Amazon’s corporate services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver security automation to support security event operations and threat emulation activities

  • Develop custom tooling supporting fraud detection capabilities

  • Operationalize raw threat intelligence data to enable informed risk assessments of customer platforms

  • Partner with other internal teams across the CPSS organization to drive key engineering and business decisions impacting security across our customer's domains

  • Assist in the improvement of operational excellence for our customer's business and technical teams

A day in the life

CPSS's Capabilities Team is the team providing cross-functional capabilities that support peer DefSec teams and the larger CPSS organization. We tackle ambitious projects that allow our customers to quickly operationalize raw threat intelligence and operationalize it for use across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience conducting threat modeling, identifying system security vulnerabilities, and implementing remediation techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services

  • Experience working with development team(s) that have delivered commercial software or software-based services

  • Experience with common security monitoring, log analysis, and forensic tools.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
