Description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to improve the shopper experience and interaction with ads on one of the most popular pages on the internet! Come join the Stores Monetization technical program management team to improve both monetization and the shopper experience of Advertising across Amazon’s Store, with millions of customers around the world on every device imaginable. Reinvent the customer experience and accelerate ad supply growth by launching new ad products, ad formats, data products, and improving measurement and ad relevancy. With an interesting and diverse backlog, your experience managing complex programs will be essential as you engage with many different teams in order to remove friction during planning and delivery.

From the inception of an idea, you are involved in gathering requirements, shaping the vision, and setting the team up for successful delivery. As a Sr TPM you are also a key decision maker in the team. You will establish launch timelines, make decisions to optimize trade-offs, and manage expectations with external stakeholders. The scope and scale of our work often comes with a high degree of ambiguity. You will need to balance customer needs with technical constraints and anticipate the bottlenecks that may emerge along the way.

The ideal candidate values autonomy and learns enthusiastically. They will be comfortable making decisions – big and small. This candidate will also be very organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

• Create, manage and communicate project plans for multiple programs

• Translate technical and business requirements into backlog stories

• Establish and manage towards meaningful goals and milestones

• Implement and communicate metrics measuring program success

• Partner with advertising stakeholders to deliver shared goals across multiple teams

• Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve development efficiency

• Facilitate team’s agile practice to ensure on time delivery

• Predict and help remove impediments for the team

• Provide concise written and verbal communication on all aspects of your programs

• Demonstrate a high degree of ownership for every project

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
