The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to- market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing In-Memory architectures leveraging AWS services. In-Memory DB Specialist Solutions Architect will work closely with the Database Services team, Business Development and Sales to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption and revenue of AWS. You will work with the largest companies in the world to design flexible and cost-effective cloud-based solutions. You will develop whitepapers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage AWS services. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help other SA’s understand how to integrate AWS caching services into customer architectures.As a trusted advisor and strategic leader with technical expertise in In-Memory/NoSQL database systems, you will share recommendations around security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate building key data solutions and applications on AWS for our customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.

  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications

  • 5+ years experience in In-memory data architectures.

  • 5+ years of technical experience in NoSQL Database and OpenSource technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises.

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.

  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.

  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.

  • Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
